Breakfast Ideas for Busy Mornings

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Renee Kirchner The lazy days of summer are almost over. Soon kids will be rushing out the door to school and they will need a quick, healthy breakfast. Parents need a healthy breakfast too. Just because you dont have much time doesnt mean you should skip the most important meal of the day. Here are some quick breakfast ideas for busy mornings. TORTILLA WRAPS In the South tortillas are not just for dinner. Breakfast burritos are catching on throughout the country. Why not? They are quick and easy to prepare plus the types of food that you can use to fill them are virtually limitless. The standard breakfast burrito consists of egg, cheese and sausage. You can make your wrap healthier by starting with a whole wheat tortilla and filling it with turkey or chicken, and veggies. This type of breakfast can be heated up in the microwave in just a minute or two and it will fill you up until lunchtime. SMOOTHIES Like tortilla wraps, the variety of smoothies you can make are endless. A basic smoothie consists of milk or yogurt, fruit (your favorite variety), ice, and maybe some extras such as peanut butter or honey. You are only limited by your imagination. The smoothie is portable and healthy. PIZZA Who says that pizza is only for dinner? Pizza making does not have to be a big production. Start with an English muffin and spread a tablespoon of spaghetti sauce on each half. Top with cheese and your favorite pizza toppings. Heat in the toaster oven until the cheese is bubbly. Enjoy! PANCAKES AND WAFFLES MADE EASY Making pancakes and waffles can be time consuming if you make the batter in the morning and have to wait for the waffle iron to heat up. Try making a large batch of either pancakes or waffles over the weekend. Wrap them in individual packages and place in the freezer. Reheat them in the toaster oven on school mornings. LEFTOVERS Dinner leftovers make a great, hearty breakfast for kids and adults. Spaghetti, lasagna, tuna casserole, even meatloaf can be reheated in the microwave quickly in the morning. This type of breakfast is usually high in protein and will stick with you longer than sweet breakfast cereals or sugary donuts. Im sure youve probably tried breakfast for dinner before. Why not try dinner for breakfast? Renee Kirchner is a parent, educator, and freelance writer who specializes in writing for children and parents. Getting Married In Winter

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Fernando Bellingham Most people plan wedding ceremonies for the warmer months, but you are not most people. Nope, you are going to get married during the cooler months. Traditionally, late spring, summer and early fall are the time to hold a wedding ceremony. Ah, but who needs tradition?! If you cant wait for those seasons to roll around, you can go ahead and get married notwithstanding the weather. There is an obvious choice if you want a warm ceremony in the warmer months. Actually, there are two. Your first choice is to hold everything in doors. Doing so will keep everyone warm, but it is a bit bland. A better choice may be to move the wedding to a warm location. You can choose states that never really get cold such as Arizona or you can think about other countries. Going abroad is a very popular idea for wedding ceremonies during the cold months of the year. Greece, Jamaica, Cancun they are all possibilities. If you are going to spend the money, you might even think about Bali or some other exotic location that is practically a wedding paradise. The only downside with going abroad has to do with friends and family. First, they may not be able to go because time may be at a premium. Remember, they are already dealing with the holidays. Second, you are asking them to spend a lot of money to attend, something that might even be considered rude. In short, a foreign wedding should come with the expectation that few people will attend. If you want a big party, stick to your area. If the temperature is not a big deal, you can really get creative with your ceremony. Ski resorts are an excellent choice and few will complain. To go really nuts, why not stay at a location few can imagine? Interlaken, Switzerland is a beautiful spot in the mountains. So is Halstatt, Austria. To really go nuts, Sweden is probably your place. Specifically, the Ice Hotel in the village Jukkasjrvi is your destination. The Ice Hotel is just what it sounds like. Located in the arctic circle, the hotel is located next to the Torne River. The hotel started off as a large igloo, but has evolved into a much larger structure. The entire hotel is truly made of ice and it melts off every spring. The rooms are nice and similar to what you would expect in any hotel with the exception being they are made of ice. The rooms have fireplaces and are more than cozy. For a romantic evening, you can find a spot outside to sit and watch the Northern Lights dance the night away. Getting married is a very traditional thing. Think outside the box, however, and you can have an incredible experience any time of the year. Fernando Bellingham is with Wedding Yeti - your free wedding resource. What is the Best Color for Your Sedu Hairstyle?

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Mary Anne Lionel Sedu hair style is usually considered to be straight hairstyle, but nothing apart this is mentioned, when speaking about Sedu hair. So, we may turn on our imagination and start seeking for the perfect color match to your own Sedu hair style. Deciding on what hair color to choose is a ve-e-ry painstaking process. You think about highlighting, or changing brown into black, or blond into red. This day you would like to have hazel and the next day sun will make you love blond, and the autumn will force you to choose red. There are hundreds of opportunities for the hair color. However, the main thing is to find something that will make your hairstyle a Sedu one. The crucial keypoints of the best choice is your character, your complexion, the color of your eyes, and your age. Keypoint #1: Your character To choose perfect hair color for your character means to use those color patterns that will naturally reflect your personality. Your image is a single whole, and suitable hair color will help you to ensure that your Sedu hairstyle reveals your character in the best way. Brown and hazel hair colors will suit everybody from business women to teenage girls. Black color will be good for self-confident people, while blond can bring out mild character. Red and copper shades discover passion and desire, and highlights express people who like to compose contrasts. Even acid green for your hair color can suit you, until it matches your personality. So, mind your character, when deciding on your own Sedu hair color. Keypoint #2: Your complexion To express the Sedu part of your image and not spoil it with something unsuitable, you should remember about the complexion. Not that it should restrict you in colors, but shades should be picked up rather carefully. Dont listen to people who say that ethnic hair can be only of particular color to match the skin complexion. Its not true. But still it is necessary to take care that the color youve chosen suits your image. Remember Halle Berry in the X-men? Does she look bad? Of course, not. At the same time pale skin is rather sensitive to the black shades. When the wrong shade is picked up, you may even look like Mrs Adams. And cherry red dont like tanned skin, while it matches pale people. The bottom line is following: take care of the shade and it will take care of your Sedu image. Keypoint #3: The color of the eyes When speaking about perfect Sedu hairstyle, we should say that the color of your eyes is one of the most important questions. It is rather difficult to find the shade that will express the beauty of your eyes. But there is some advice that can be considered useful in this situation: Dark grey and dark blue eyes can match everything. Light grey and blue eyes find themselves in friendship with blond and light brown; though sometimes these eye colors also fit brown black. Dark brown and hazel eyes match every hair color, but mind the complexion. To say more, as long as you express your eyes beauty through the hair style and hair color, you express your own beauty, because your eyes reflect your personality. Moreover, your Sedu hair style only wins if everything about your style is in harmony. Keypoint #4: Your age Chanel once said that all women are beautiful and pretty. But prettiness disappears with age, though beauty remains. She also added that its a shame that all women want to be pretty, and no one desires to be beautiful. I may add to this that Sedu style and hairstyle express your beauty, not prettiness, something that lies inside you, your secret passions and hidden desires. So, when you are not afraid of your age, either youre in your -teens or your ties, it is noticeable. You show bravery and dignity, and this is very attractive and Sedu. Here are some tips to remember when matching age and hair color: 1. Black loves women in their twenties and thirties. That is if you have long and middle hairstyles. If you have short hairstyle, you may wear black as long as you like. 2. Brown and hazel colors love everybody. They are very democratic for every complexion, age, eye color and hairstyle. They look Sedu all the time. 3. Light blond matches pale complexion in any age. Dark blond matches everybody of any age. Your hairstyle remains Sedu as long as you like, while youre blond. 4. Red is a very tricky color. Dark copper shades are perfect for pale complexions and all ages, while light red is a perfect choice for Asian complexion and pale complexion in teens and twenties, and at the same time cherry red highlights are very sexy and Sedu for everybody. 5. Highlights are one of the opportunities to change your hairstyle using contrasts. You may usually match any color with any color. If youve decided to change the hair color cardinally, make highlights. Youll compose contrasts and show that you are very attractive with every color, even with two colors simultaneously. All in all, your fantasy is the best adviser. There are hundreds of colors and thousands of shades. Remember about all above said and youll find how to turn your common hairstyle into unique Sedu hairstyle. The Apostle Paul’s Letter to the Modern World in March 2007

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

By Matthew Robert Payne I was chatting to the Father tonight as I do each night when I go the bed and after a while He told me he had sent the apostle Paul to earth to have a chat to me. The Father bid me good night and I tested the spirit on the end of my bed and once he had confessed Jesus had come in the flesh, Paul started to comfort me. Now an hour later he has come with me to my computer and wants me to dictate a message to you readers. This article is what he had to say. Greetings from the everlasting Father, from Jesus His Son and from the Holy Spirit the comforter. The prophet Joel prophesied that in the last days people would see visions and would prophesy. Today when I arrived Matthew was surprised I was dressed in a Roman soldiers uniform and I told him that I was a soldier for Christ. He was happy with the answer. I have some questions for you readers to contemplate. Are you are a soldier for Christ? Are you taking ground off the enemy? Have you put to death the flesh in your life and are you living a life of power in the Spirit with a crucified life? Are you walking in communion with the Spirit of God, in a close walk so that your every decision and every action is ordered by the throne room of heaven? Are you set apart, holy and consecrated for God alone, or do you live this life as a slave to righteousness and sin at the same time? Are you serving two masters, or are you trying to serve the lusts of this world in the flesh and trying to serve God at the same time? Do you claim Jesus as Lord, yet have little idea how to walk in the Spirit and move in the power of the Spirit? Are you hungry for the meat of word and reading book after book in search for knowledge? Is the modern church lacking power, full of dissentions and quarrels and strange doctrines? Do you serve Jesus with all you heart, all of your mind and all of your strength? Do you love your neighbor as you love yourself? Are you one of the sheep in the parable of the sheep and the goats or are you more of a goat? These are some of the questions I have been sent to ask you. The world that we look upon is very far from the world that I left. Knowledge has increased and yet sin is out of control. The people of earth seem to have lost touch with what is shameful and not only do evil in private but now make it available on DVDs for people to watch and be entertained by it. The sin in the church is an abomination to God and to see what some of the congregation members of churches are doing is shocking for the great cloud of witnesses that watch human affairs. Men are leaving wives and taking other wives in second and third marriages, young children are being abused and grace has been taught in such a way that the average Christian has no fear of a Holy and righteous God. Where is the spark and the excitement? Why is not the possession of Christ so precious anymore that the Christian wants to share it with everyone he knows? Why have you become so lukewarm, neither hot nor cold? Why has the church become a social club and where has the faith gone so that signs and wonders are not so prevalent in the West? Where is the repentance, true Godly sorrow that has people walk away from sin and turn their back on it? What is so good about the Television and the Newspaper? Why is so much time and money being wasted on goods and services when the same money and time could be put into winning the lost? Do you even care about the lost in the world? Where is the zeal, that unquenchable fire of the Holy Ghost? Where are the intercessory prayers, where are the people praying for change and the prayer meetings where earthquakes disturb them? Why do the people honor the Lord with their lips on Sundays and all of the week the Lord gets no thought and the poor beggar get no bread from you? Where is the fire in the pulpit, the sermons that are unwritten and un learned that have the whole congregation in tears of repentance? Where is the meat of the Bible? Why are you preaching these fluffy weak sermons pastors? The whole of heaven mourns and cries for the lost of the world and the whole of heaven mourns for the lost in the church. The gates of hell remain wide open for the unrighteous and the people that continue in lawlessness and sin. The prophets are seeing the world that they prophesied come to pass and the great men of faith are in mourning as they watch human affairs and the church that is sliding so far from the right path. What is the matter with serving the Lord with all your might? What is wrong with sowing money into tracts and putting one into every post box in your city? Where is the passion? Why are people so excited in church and come to feel the anointing, but cant feel it all week? Why does the world accept the Christian church being so like them? Why are you marketing with banners and with flyers and competitions and all manner of marketing tips just like your selling a product like the world does? What do you have this send me money and I will send you a love gift sort of promotion? Doesnt the Holy Spirit have enough power to inspire people to give to your ministry? Why are you being seduced by the ways of the world? Why do you allow Jezabel a position of power in your church and into your pulpits when the Revelation of John said not to tolerate this spirit in your fellowship? Beloved people of the Lord. Seek God while you can. God is not in a denomination; God is not at the latest conference or in the latest bestseller. The God of heaven and earth is revealed in the Holy Scriptures. With enough prayer and with an earnest heart the Bible will be opened up to you by the Holy Spirit. Even my letters that sometimes can be hard to understand and are used and twisted by dishonest men can be understood and obeyed by you if you make the effort. I am a simple man. A man who had no great reputation on earth. I was a driven man and I was close to the Lord Jesus through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. If you seek one thing, seek to abide in the presence of the Holy Spirit. All those that walk in the Spirit and abide with Him have their prayers answered. The world looks for revival. But no great revival can come until the church comes to realize that they are lukewarm and have lost their first love. They need to repent and cry to the Lord of the Harvest to send them out as laborers into the harvest. The Lord is not slack and is a God of promises and He will fulfill but He cannot move on a stubborn and stiff necked people except with judgment or the fire of the real gospel.. It seems pastors are afraid of losing their flock by preaching holiness and a righteous sort of life. Pastors are afraid to ban people from coming to church who are involved in sexual immorality as I taught. In fact the modern church does not practice a lot of what my letters taught. They claim to love me, and all sorts of thousands of books have been written about what I said, but few men take my advice and imitate me.The normal Christian life should be abnormal to the rest of the world. A Christian should shine with the light of Christ and be a light on a hill. The church should be a blazing flame that does not just meet once a week but is alive and together each day. The Christian walking by faith should be a person winning souls each year and growing in faith from year to year. Possessions and material wealth should not be what a Christian should have to show for his life of work but hundreds of souls entering heaven should be their heritage. The earth is in a sick position and yet never has communication been so possible like it is today. With knowledge and communication sin has increased and yet with all this technology few people have the vision to shake nations with it. Today if I were on earth all of my sermons would be on MP3s and would be printed and available free on the Internet. Consider my questions. Pick up you Bible and have sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Sow into the lost and let the Holy Spirit be your teacher and catch the flame and go and spread the light with all men. Read the Bible and apply it. Give up on spending and sow into the kingdom, sow into seed that will bear fruit for eternal life in another persons life. May Gods peace find you and stay with you. Be blessed Paul the Apostle. 3/31/2007 Matthew shares his heart in these articles and can be found at http://www.online-prayer.net You can read more of his articles at his link below. If you want a copy of his upcoming book of articles which will have the first sixty of the articles on this web-site called “The Musings of a Mad Prophet” please contact Matthew via email so he can contact you around February 2007 to tell you of the progress of the book. Beginning Crochet

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By K. Perry Many people enjoy crochet for its relaxing qualities and satisfying results. It appeals to a wide number of people, as most of the materials still remain inexpensive and easy to obtain. Young children are often taught crochet to increase their fine motor skills, to help in their learning to count and follow instructions and to bolster their self-confidence. Amongst older people crochet is popular as a social activity and to help keep arthritic symptoms in check. Many people find that crochet can reduce stress levels. Its an easily portable craft and can provide inexpensive and original gifts. Crochet can help with dexterity; help with eye-hand coordination; help develop concentration and can be incorporated as part of other crafts. Crochet means hook in French and this is the name given to the craft amongst French, Italians and Spanish speakers. Its known as haken in Holland, haekling in Denmark, hekling in Norway and virkning in Sweden. Although other forms of handwork can be dated far back in time, owing to archaeological finds no one is quite sure when and where crochet began. Crochet is a series of interlocking loops of thread onto a chain using a thin rod with a hook at the end. A chain of loops is created, with each new loop catching the thread and pulling it through the previous loop. After the chain is completed, the thread is then turned to start a second chain. There are a large variety of patterns and stitches. Some of the more common stitches are chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, popcorn crochet, and cluster crochet. In the past it was very common to work directly from a picture of finished work or from a sample. This is why in early patterns many of the directions seem to be missing. Women in the nineteenth century were familiar with crochet and therefore instructions that we need today were unnecessary at that time. The story of crochet continues. By referring to old books, magazines and brochures, people find techniques that have been forgotten. Often crocheters think they have invented new crochet stitches, when they are actually reinventing stitches that have been around for over a hundred and fifty years. Job Interviews: Question to Not Ask

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

By George F Franks III Much has been written about job interviews. The literature includes what to wear, how to act, questions to ask and how to follow-up. One area that the job interview literature rarely touches on is what NOT to ask. For todays job hunter, whether right out of high school or college, or a seasoned veteran of the workforce, what a candidate asks speaks volumes. Some of the questions to NOT ask as outlined below including why the job candidate should not ask them. How long does it take to get promoted? While this is a seemingly innocent question, it says that the candidate is already looking beyond the interview job. It also is worthless to ask because the promotion cycle for most jobs is related to a great number of variables. Wait until you are in the job to ask this one. When do I get to take vacation? I you are asking this question at the interview, then you are thinking about not working rather than doing an outstanding performance in the new role. Save this question for after you have been offered the job, not for the initial interview. Why do some people have cubicles and others have offices? Unless you are an interior decorator, the size and type of offices should be irrelevant during the interview process. Wait until you are in the job and find out for yourself. Also, you can stop someone in the hallway on the way FROM the job interview and ask them inconspicuously if it is important. Do I have to work overtime? Asking about how many hours you have to work per day or week says that you are a clock watches. This is not what a hiring manager is looking for unless you are on the assembly line or a steel mill. What are the employee activities? Even if you are an avid softball player, chess champion or bowler, this question is an interview killer. It says you are more interested in the activities than working hard and moving up the ladder. Again, wait until after you are hired or asked someone in the hallway after the interview. Can I work from home? While this seems like very good and important questions, new employees need to understand the politics, faces, dynamics and tempo of the office. They cannot learn these things from home. The hiring manager is looking for someone who will be right there, working and soaking up the office dynamics to help her become more successful. Will the company pay for me to go to graduate school in (underwater basket weaving, ethno musicology, Greek literature, etc.)? I asked this right out of college. DONT! They want you focused on what will make you more valuable to their business. No matter how much they say they care about you, they dont. So dont ask unless it is about getting an MBA. Are shorts, tee-shirt and flip-flops acceptable on Fridays in the summer? I plan to go to the beach house from work. Even if this is true, do not ask it. You are not in college. Give the impression you act and dress like an adult. Can I use my company computer for video games? Even though many if not most employees use their company computer for non-company purposes, do not ask about it during an interview. It shows a lack of maturity and business sense. What is the cafeteria like? This does not matter unless you are in a catering firm. For other companies, the answer will be a lie anyway. Where can I shop around here? The hiring manager does not want you thinking about shopping, he wants you thinking about working. This gives him visions of preparing for a board meeting and you are out at the gap trying on new jeans. How do you like working here? Similar to the cafeteria question, even for catering companies. Only ask if you want to here a lie. What is the dating scene here like? Only ask if the hiring manager is the same age and sex. Even then, this is not an appropriate interview question. Work is for work, not for dating and a social life. What is the social life like? Looking for a job is looking for a job. Do not look for or ask about the social benefits of the job. Again, the boss will have visions of you blowing out at 5PM for Happy Hour while she is working on the presentation for the board meeting the next morning. Do you have a substance abuse policy? If you ask this, you might as well bring a bottle and a joint with you to the interview. Most employers do have a substance abuse policy. If this is important to you check on their web site BEFORE the interview. While some of the questions outlined above may seem nave, I have heard every one of them during screening and hiring interviews. Think about what you ask. Always ask questions, but if you are not sure, talk to a friend, mentor, professor or even parent first. Your questions tell more about you than your responses to the questions asked by the hiring manager. George F. Free Credit Union ATMs

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Eric Morris Credit unions are community-based financial cooperatives that are owned and controlled by members who are also shareholders. Among the benefits of being a member of a credit union in the U.S. is ownership of an ATM card that can be used in a number of automated teller machines without surcharge fees. This way, customers are able to save a significant amount of money and time, especially if their banks’ ATMs are not located in a convenient place. One of the largest credit unions that offer free ATM transactions in the U.S. has a network of 32,000 ATMs. Among the areas covered by its network of ATM machines are Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan and Delaware, with a few machines located in Illinois, Wisconsin and Chicago. Because most of the credit unions in the U.S. are small, the proposal to build an alliance among them seems like a promising idea worth exploring. By teaming up with each other, the credit unions will be able to expand their network and provide their members with more options for ATM transactions. According to the president of a famous credit union in the U.S., joining a credit union league enables them to possess immediate physical presence in emerging markets without using up monetary resources in building physical infrastructure. This way, the credit unions gain more ground in the competition against the mega-banks of the country. Apart from credit unions, the concept of a credit union league is also attractive for independent banks in the U.S. Because most of these banks are also small, they can also benefit greatly from becoming a member of a credit union league. Michigan’s largest independent savings bank, with reported assets of $13 billion, is a member of a credit union league. ATMs that belong to credit unions can easily be detected because there is a logo of the credit union at the back of the machine. To locate credit union ATM sites, most credit unions have a Web site where members can find the most accessible ATM location for them. ATMs provides detailed information on ATMs, Bank ATMs, ATMs For Sale, Portable ATMs and more. ATMs is affiliated with Global Money Transfers. Diets For Weight Loss And Good Health

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Michael George Ellis More and more, people now turn to their Diet not only to lose weight but also to cure or alleviate other Health Issues. Remember What We Eat affects our Weight Loss Issues and most of our Health Issues more than anything excepting environment, which is another matter! To Start Off Might You Agree With The Following Statements? 1/ Most “faddy diets” Do Not Work Long Term! 2/ You Are What You Eat! 3/ Where The Mind Goes The Body Will Follow! To Clarify The Three Statements Above I Would Say This. 1/ In our heart of hearts we know, especially if you have tried one, that Faddy Diets do not usually work long term. Why? Well, mostly, its motivation or should I say the lack of it, plus, some deprivation diets are not all that palatable, and some just don’t work. Whatever the regime, you start with good intentions and you lose weight, but after you have shed a few pounds you lose the impetus and when you return to your normal eating habits the weight comes right back. Has that happened to you? 2/ We keep hearing that old saying You Are What You Eat, but think about it, its true! Where do you find the most obese people in the world? Is it in the poorer countries where only the “staple diet” like Fruit and Vegetables, Potatoes and Rice are eaten or is it in the more prosperous countries where we are teased with great tasting food that is laced with sugar and saturated fats along with sugar filled drinks? It shouldnt surprise you to find that the incidence of Heart Disease, Stroke and Digestive Disorders all follow the same geographical locations. 3/ Where The Mind Goes The Body Will Follow! If your thoughts are constantly on loosing weight, if you have a burning desire to be thin, then you probably will be, given time. On the other hand if you constantly desire or out of habit, regularly eat saturated fatty food, then you will be Over-Weight or if you like FAT, sorry but true! Thankfully there are some simple common sense, tried and tested, but most importantly, successful ways of loosing weight! Remember there is no “One Size Fits All” weight los program out there, and what will work for some, will not work for others. The Correct Psychology With Any Weight Loss Program Is Paramount! Psychology Who? Ok, I’ll put it a different way. How do you loose pounds of fat and maintain the weight loss long term without the correct psychological mindset? The Answer To The Above Question Is Where Most Diets FAIL! However the answer is simple. Without the correct psychological mindset you probably won’t! What’s more when it all goes wrong, as it usually does, you will more than likely regain the weight that you lost and then some! Been There? Worn the T-Shirt? Common Sense Should Tell Us That Most Diets Have Something Missing. The Psychology! Tragic as it is, millions of people world wide, go through the pain of dieting (notice the first 3 letters in diet spell DIE!) but isn’t it the case that people, regardless of the time of year, resolve to loose weight only to give up in two weeks, three weeks or a month. Now def”eat”ed in battle we then wait until next January 1 or the latest fad diet to emerge that might tempt us yet again to run the gauntlet. So, How Can We Halt This Process? What Is The Trick To Successful Weight Loss? Lets forget food for a few seconds and get down to basics. Have you ever wondered what are the driving forces that make you decide on one course of action rather than another? The psychology perhaps? A good example here might be: Why did you choose to eat that Yummy Cream Cake instead of that Healthy Salad? Its not just food, you know! This driving force affects most aspects of our daily life! Ultimately, it is something that we want to avoid and something that we desire to attain. Is this man talking in riddles? Ok here it is! The Psychology Of PAIN and PLEASURE Most decisions, no matter how large or small, have pain or pleasure attached to it to some degree. Nothing in life is Black or White just shades of Grey and this applies to pain and pleasure. For instance, talking food again, you might eat that cream cake because of the immediate pleasure and push aside the pain, which would come later because of the extra unwanted weight. Another example might be a choice between the “Cream Cake” (pleasure), or the Double Choc, with strawberry and vanilla topped, Gateaux (ultimate pleasure). Get my drift on Psychology? Understandably, avoiding pain takes precedence over seeking pleasure. For instance, if the choice on offer were either a yummy cream cake (desire to gain pleasure), or fill in your tax returns before they remove your furniture (avoid pain) which one would you choose? I think the cake might stay in the refrigerator until this pain was avoided! How Does This Psychology Apply To Me? Simply put, you will either go for the pleasure, and eat the cream cake, the large steak and fries, or you will avoid the pain by changing your mindset. How To Change The Psychological Mindset And Why? Let examine someone who feels they are moderately over weight, you know, not too fat, the old clothes still fit but thinks: should I go on a weight loss plan? What do you think? Are they likely to give up the pleasure of food, Mmm? Now, this same person has been over indulging for several months and the story is now different, very different! The cloths dont fit. His belly now rolls over the top of his trousers and his partner (being politically correct) has just said Fred (I love the Flintstones) you are getting as fat as a pig, why cant you look like Barney, that nice thin chap next door?”. Wow!! PAIN!! Another plate of Dino-Ribs sir? er I think not! So what does Fred do? Simple, what we all do! The psychological pain of being fat motivates us to start to lose some weight, we then start to look and feel better, and guess what? The PAIN subsides and we loose the motivation to continue and we get back on the merry-go-round once more and seek the Pleasure found in food! Whoops, there goes the day! You! Must Control The Motivation Behind Pain And Pleasure Or It Will Control You! In this life there is not a lot that we have total control over. The Weather, the Stock Market, the Price of Food etc. What we do have is ultimate control over what our minds focus on, the psychology. If our focus is in the wrong direction then we can expect results contrary to what we desire. For instance: If we see the consumption of food as extreme pleasure and perceive a low calorie diet as pain then we will not achieve our goal. But if we can train our minds to think differently then losing weight can take on an whole new meaning. Ok, you have had it with the tight clothes, the snide remarks of Fatty, the mirror on the bedroom wall and you need a way out. What if you could associate not pain with dieting but pleasure, how might that feel? Conversely, if you now associated pain with being fat, might that put a new slant on things? Say, all of a sudden, you now associate dieting as the ultimate pleasure and conversely you believe not loosing weight as pain, then this might help. It’s not easy, but you can change your mindset if you try. There are lots of publications on Psychology that will guide you and supercharge your motivation so that you can achieve your goal. As for “What Weight Loss Program” should you choose? The answer is simple. If it is a balanced diet and includes some exercise and more importantly You Like It then that is the regime for you! The rest is down to how you approach the next few weeks and months and how you have adjusted, or not, your mindset. As a starter, JUICE any fruit or vegetable and replace everything that you might eat AM with the fresh juice. If you are still hungry then juice one less apple and eat it or have a banana (do not try to juice bannanas, the juicer dose not like bananas!). In the PM eat normally but watch the size of the portions. GOOD LUCK! Below are some weight related health issues that might be of interest! Small Business Marketing Tools to Get You Free Publicity

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Brandt Stohr As far as small business marketing goes, free publicity is gold. Its not just that youre getting your company name to the public without having to pay for it; its that the news publicity whether its in a magazine, newspaper, or online, weighs more heavily in your prospective customers minds. Even as skepticism reigns, people see information printed by news-type sources (whether in print or online) as being more truthful, more objective, than information thats paid for by the company (advertising). But simply sending out a press kit to your local news media wont guarantee you that free publicity. The cardinal rule you have to follow is that your information must be newsworthy. One of the ways that news media keep their reputation as objective sources of information is that they are theyre not going to print a thinly-veiled ad for your product or service as a news piece. But if you write a release that accomplishes both goals offering the news media an interesting, informational story and letting potential customers get to know your product or service thats where free publicity really pays off. To start, you need to develop a press kit as a standard component of your small business marketing materials. Your press kit should include: Small business marketing press kit component 1: A letter to the editor of the newspaper (or magazine, or internet site) pitching your press release as a story idea. Many components of your press kit can be recycled, but the letter to the editor should change every time to send out a new press release. Small business marketing press kit component 2: The press release. Your press release is where the journalist will look to find most of the information for her story. In the release, you should describe the news item (the launch of a new product that will revolutionize consumers lives, for example). Feel free to quote yourself and others in the press release expounding on the issue (that way the journalist wont have to contact you or others for quotes when shes writing the story). Small business marketing press kit component 3: Your business card. Make it easy for the journalist to contact you. Small business marketing press kit component 4: Your corporate bio. Journalists often like to add background information into their stories; make it easy by including a corporate bio that offers the important information about your business, including who founded it and when, location, and other interesting tidbits. Small business marketing press kit component 5: Relevant photos. The keyword here is relevant: include photos of the topic your press release is about. If its a new product, offer some interesting photos. If its a new day care service, offer some pictures of the employees with the kids. Use photos that will make your story more compelling. Small business marketing press kit component 6: Testimonials. It can be a great strategy to build quotations from current and past customers right into your press release. But even when you do that, dont be shy about adding more. Small business marketing press kit component 7: A data sheet for the relevant product or service. A data sheet with give the details about your product or service (thats being covered in the press release). Relevant details include pricing, components, materials, size, weight, and part number if applicable. You should put all seven small business marketing components of your press kit into a folder ideally one with your logo on the front to finish off the presentation. Once youve created an appropriate small business marketing press kit, you can think about the kind of media outlets that you want to target. That small business marketing decision should be based on where your customers are are they online, reading the local daily, or a national newsmagazine? Free publicity wont mean much if its not picked up by your target audience your prospective customers. Once youve decided the media outlet that you want to target, find out who the managing editor is and send a personalized press kit to her. Or, if the publication is very large, send a personalized press kit to the journalist in charge of your area (for example, the Food journalist if your product is gourmet brownies or the Technology journalist if your product is computer software). You can also send out a press release for mass distribution using one of many online press release wires. How To Choose The Right Wedding Decorations For Your Special Day

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Gregg Hall When you are planning to have a get together or party decorations are something that you need to think about. No party is complete without decorations, whether it be a birthday party, or a wedding, or a graduation, or even a school dance. The decorations you choose will help you set the mood for the whole event. There are couple different ways you can go about getting or making your decorations for your special event. First thing you will want to do is pick a theme for your special event. You want to make sure all your decorations follow a theme. If you need ideas you can do some looking around in magazines to find some ideas. You can find magazines that have whole party kits you can purchase for your special occasion. This is an easy way for you to get your decorations all in one package. This is beneficial because you already know that all the decorations will follow which ever theme you decide to go with. Another way you can get some ideas is to visit your local craft store. If you choose to go to the craft or party or hobby store you will need to make your own decorations. For those who are creative and enjoy these kind of activities this is the way to go. Making your own decorations tends to be cheaper, but takes more time. If you have the time and the talent this may be a great way to decorate for your party. If you are somewhat creative you may choose yet another option. You may want to make some of your decorations, and purchase some to fill in, and compliment the ones you make. If you are having a child’s party you may want to have some of the parties activities be making place mats, or hats, or other party favors that they can take home. This is a great way to entertain the kids, and they will have a blast. Another great place to look is on the Internet. You can find many sites that will give you a huge selection of decoration ideas. You might be surprised as to what you can find. This is also a convenient way to get ideas, as you don’t have to leave home. You can look for ideas when you have time, not when the store is open. In addition to getting ideas on the Internet, you can also order your decorations or supplies to make your decorations right from home. No matter which way you decide to go, just remember that the decorations can make or break the party. If you have great decorations that suggest a fun time, people will have fun. You don’t want to have boring decorations that don’t commit to a theme, so look for ideas if you need help. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Beach, Florida.
